This historic topographical postcard displays a clear real photographic view of the striking five-storey tower house of Braemar Castle, traditionally known as Old Mar Castle. The composition showcases the iconic star-shaped defensive curtain wall and prominent bartizans turret styles set against the dramatic backdrop of the rolling Scottish Highlands. Built originally in 1628 by John Erskine, the 18th Earl of Mar, this historic stronghold stands as an important monument of Jacobite military history.
