This historic monochrome postcard depicts a detailed ornithological study of a Kestrel (Cerchneis tinnunculus), showing one bird in flight near a rocky cliff face while another rests in a nest site below. Published for the British Museum (Natural History), the educational illustration shows the birds at one-fifth natural size within their simulated wild habitat. The card represents the early twentieth-century academic publishing efforts of the museum to document native British birds of prey.

This is a plain back standard size postcard which was published by British Museum (Natural History), printed at the Oxford Univ. Press (Series C 18). The postcard was made in the United Kingdom. This is an unused postcard.
