This striking monochrome artistic postcard features a historic illustration by Robert Seymour celebrating the literary works of Charles Dickens. The detailed sketch depicts the iconic character Mr. Pickwick standing proudly at the head of a long table, addressing the fellow members of his club during a lively dining room meeting. The lower border incorporates clean, informative typography identifying the artwork as 'The Seymour Plate "Mr. Pickwick addresses the Club" 1836' from 'The Beginning of Fame' collection. The composition serves as a wonderful historical and graphic celebration of nineteenth-century British literature, Victorian engraving illustration, and classic book publishing heritage.

This is a standard size reltaively modern reproduction postcard which was published by Pamlin Prints, Croydon (Collector Literature series, Code: C8004). The postcard was made in Great Britain. This is an unused postcard.
