This dramatic sepia-toned view features an intricate sculptural relief by Domenico Mastroianni depicting the historic death scene of Petronius from the celebrated novel Quo Vadis. The elaborate composition shows the reclining central figure surrounded by mourning companions, attendants, and a musician performing on a classical lyre. This exceptional piece demonstrates the detailed artistic craftsmanship of the early twentieth-century French sculptobrumure photographic series.
