This historic monochrome postcard features an informative ornithological study of a pair of Oyster-Catchers (Haematopus ostralegus), depicted at one-sixth natural size within a detailed museum display habitat. The composition shows one bird standing watch over a clutch of camouflaged eggs nestled among sparse wildflowers, while the second bird probes the ground cover nearby. Published for the British Museum (Natural History), this card serves as an excellent example of interwar educational publishing aimed at documenting native coastal British bird life.

This is a plain back standard size postcard which was published by British Museum (Natural History), printed at the Oxford Univ. Press (Series C 16). The postcard was made in the United Kingdom. This is an unused postcard.
