Cornwall Postcard: Wheal Martyn Museum St Austell Water Wheel 1980s XT5120

This colourful landscape view showcases the secondary waterwheel mechanism nestled against a stone retaining wall in the valley at Laxey. The large red timber and iron wheel is framed by dense green woodland, with the overhead wooden launder chute clearly visible bringing water to the structure. The composition serves as a wonderful historic and engineering record of nineteenth-century industrial mining machinery and Manx heritage tourism.
