The Low Wood Hotel, located near Ambleside, has a rich history as one of the oldest and most famous coaching inns in the Lake District. Originally a small farmhouse, it was transformed into a hotel in the early 18th century to serve travelers and early tourists drawn to the beauty of Windermere.
