This historic topographical postcard displays a fine real photographic view of the grand exterior frontage of Wray Castle near Windermere. The composition showcases the extensive Gothic Revival crenellated towers, impressive central carriage archway, and ivy-covered stone walls nestled within the rolling Lake District grounds. Built originally in 1840 for a retired Liverpool surgeon, this grand mock-gothic mansion boasts historical connections to Beatrix Potter during her youth.
