Dorset Postcard: Dorchester, The Antelope Hotel Historic Coaching Inn Exterior 1950's XT2018.
The Antelope Hotel in Dorchester is one of the town's most historic landmarks, serving as a vital coaching inn as early as the 16th century. Its prominent Grade II listed frontage on South Street features large bow windows and a central archway that once provided access for horse-drawn coaches. The inn gained particular notoriety in the 17th century when it was famously used by Judge Jeffreys as his headquarters during the "Bloody Assizes" following the Monmouth Rebellion.
This is an unused standard size postcard published by Photo-Precision Limited and manufactured in the United Kingdom.
Please also use the image magnifier to make your own assessment on the condition. Please ignore any lines caused by the scanner.
