Dorset Postcard: Weymouth, The Osmington White Horse Hill Figure XT2091.

This postcard features the famous Osmington White Horse, a hill figure cut into the limestone of Sutton Poyntz in 1808 to honor King George III. Uniquely among British hill figures, it depicts the King riding the horse, which local legend suggests offended the monarch because he was shown riding out of the town rather than into it. The figure is 280 feet long and remains a major landmark visible for miles around the Weymouth and Osmington coastline.

This is an unused standard size postcard.
