The postcard depicts the Church of St Mary Magdalene in the small village of Magdalen Laver, Essex. This historic building features a 12th-century nave and chancel, notable for its early use of puddingstone and Roman brick in the wall construction. One of its most distinctive architectural elements is the wooden bell turret with a small spire, which was added in the 16th century.
