Flowers Postcard: Oeillet Rouge Red Carnation Dianthus Signed Barde Paris XT3585

This Edwardian-era postcard displays an exquisite arrangement of vibrant red carnations, delicately painted by the artist Barde. Scientifically labeled on the reverse as Oeillet rouge (Dianthus Caryophyllus var.), these deeply fringed blossoms traditionally symbolized deep love and admiration during the golden age of postcards. The card features multiple language translations along the lower edge, highlighting how French botanical art prints were widely collected and traded across diverse European borders in the early twentieth century.
