Germany Postcard: St. Goarshausen, Burg Katz, Rhine Valley Aerial View XT2099.
Burg Katz, or Katz Castle, is a 14th-century fortress overlooking the town of St. Goarshausen and the Rhine River, originally built by the Counts of Katzenelnbogen to protect their territory and collect river tolls. It sits strategically across the water from Burg Rheinfels and is a prominent feature of the UNESCO World Heritage Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The castle is famously known for its striking round tower and its location near the legendary Lorelei rock, a site steeped in German folklore.
This is an unused standard size postcard published by Georg Stilke, Rheinhandel, Köln and manufactured in Germany.
Please also use the image magnifier to make your own assessment on the condition. Please ignore any lines caused by the scanner.
When possible all of our postcards will be posted to you inside a collectable plastic postcard sleeve and a board backed envelope which will be marked 'Please do not bend'.
