Greeting Postcard:Birthday Greetings Now Safely Anchored, Artist G.Marks XT3623

This First World War era birthday greeting card displays a tranquil, atmospheric coastal landscape scene titled "Now Safely Anchored" along the bottom margin. The composition features a traditional thatched-roof cottage on the water's edge with sailing trawlers and a small rowing boat moored in the calm harbor, delicately signed with the monogram "GM" in the lower right corner. The "GM" monogram on the postcard belongs to the British landscape artist and illustrator George Marks (active 1876–1922)

The reverse side features a King George V halfpenny green stamp cancelled by a standard machine postmark, alongside a handwritten message dated 1916.

This is a standard size postcard which was published by C. W. Faulkner & Co. Ltd. London E.C. British Production Series 1423. The postcard was made in England.

This postcard has extremely minor rubbing to the top right hand corner tip.
