Meyrick Park, established in 1894, was Bournemouth's first municipal park and famously home to the first municipally owned 18-hole golf course in the country. This expansive area of former heathland became a vital public space for the town, offering recreational facilities that drew tourists and residents alike during the Edwardian era.
