This striking postcard features the Eleanor Cross, a medieval memorial located in the heart of Waltham Cross. Commissioned by King Edward I in 1291, it is one of twelve lavish monuments erected to mark the nightly resting places of his beloved wife, Queen Eleanor of Castile, as her funeral procession traveled from Lincoln to her final burial at Westminster Abbey.
