This interesting transport postcard features the early nineteenth-century Canterbury & Whitstable Railway steam locomotive 'Invicta' on public display. Enclosed by iron railings against a flint wall backdrop at Canterbury, the historic engine built by Robert Stephenson & Co. is captured in a crisp monochrome photograph. The card serves as an excellent historical record of early pioneering British railway development and heritage preservation.
This is a standard size modern reproduction postcard which was published by Pamlin Prints, Croydon (Series No. M3329). The postcard was made in the United Kingdom. This is an unused postcard.
