This colour topographical view captures a beautiful sunny perspective of Walmer Castle near Deal, Kent. The low-angle photograph looks across the grass-lined dry moat, showcasing the ivy-covered stone curtain walls, the defensive battery featuring a row of historic cannons, and the converted Tudor stone keeps rising in the background. Originally constructed by King Henry VIII as part of his coastal defence chain, the fortress subsequently evolved into an elegant official residence for the Lord Warden of the Cinque Ports, providing a wonderful visual record of this historic landmark site.
