London Postcard: Ludgate Hill and St. Paul's Cathedral, Street Scene, 1920s XT1955
Ludgate Hill has served for centuries as a primary processional approach to St. Paul's Cathedral. This interwar-era photograph captures London in a period of significant technological transition, as horse-drawn transport was being replaced by the motorcars and double-decker trams seen in the image. The "Benson's" store belonged to J.W. Benson Ltd., a world-renowned firm of watchmakers and jewelers who held several Royal Warrants during this time.
This is an unused standard size postcard. The publisher is Wildt & Kray and the country of manufacture is the United Kingdom.
Please also use the image magnifier to make your own assessment on the condition. Please ignore any lines caused by the scanner.
When possible all of our postcards will be posted to you inside a collectable plastic postcard sleeve and a board backed envelope which will be marked 'Please do not bend'.
Any 'Mo's Postcards' watermark does not appear on the actual postcard'.
