This striking Art Nouveau style postcard features a reproduction of Carlo Dolce's famous "Mater Dolorosa" painting from the Dresden Gallery. The solemn depiction of the Virgin Mary is set within an elegant oval border with stylized wheat ear designs at the top corners. A decorative scroll banner at the bottom denotes that the card was issued as a promotional item by Mellin's Food Limited of London.

This postcard has somer creasing to the top left hand corner. Slight crease at the right hand edge, and an old stain type surface mark.
