This fascinating historic photograph captures the opening day of the Uxbridge branch line at Ruislip station on 4th July 1904. A steam locomotive, heavily decorated with celebratory wreaths and flags for its inaugural run, stands at the platform with onlookers gathered beside the carriages. It represents an important milestone in the development of outer London's suburban railway network and early Edwardian transport infrastructure.

This is a standard size modern reproduction postcard which was published by Pamlin Prints, Croydon M896. The postcard was made in the United Kingdom. This is an unused postcard.

This postcard has slight surface crease to the right of centre.
