Military Postcard: Twentieth Century British Campaign Medals and Ribbons Display. 1970's XT1889
This vintage postcard, published by J. Arthur Dixon, offers a detailed visual reference of seven significant British military honors from the twentieth century. Measuring 148 mm x 105 mm, this unused card captures the rich history and diverse recognition awarded to service members across various global campaigns.
The image on the front is a clear, professional study set against a neutral khaki-green background. It features a curated selection of medals and their distinctive ribbons. In the top row, the viewer can identify the India General Service Medal (1908–1935) and the Naval General Service Medal (1915–1962). The center row is anchored by the General Service Medal for the Army and RAF (1918–1962), while the bottom row displays the India General Service Medal (1936–1939), the Korea Medal (1950–1953), and the Africa General Service Medal. Each medal is shown with its specific campaign clasps and vibrantly colored ribbons, providing an excellent educational resource for collectors or history enthusiasts.
The reverse side of the card is typical of the high-quality military series produced by J. Arthur Dixon during the 1970s. It contains the publisher's imprint and ample space for correspondence, remaining in its original, unposted state.
