Military Postcard: HMS Nelson Silver Bell Royal Navy Battleship 1920s XT3598

This real photographic view features the impressive solid silver ship's bell of the Nelson-class battleship HMS Nelson, weighing 2000 ounces. Photographed by Wright & Logan of Southsea, the monumental bell is suspended from an ornate wooden belfry structure topped with a large royal crown. Commissioned into the Royal Navy in 1927, HMS Nelson served prominently throughout the Second World War as a flagship before being decommissioned and broken up in the late 1940s.

This is a standard size postcard which was published by Wright & Logan, Southsea. The postcard was made in England. This is an unused postcard, circa 1920s.
