Military Postcard: Portrait of a Soldier in Uniform Kepi Hat French Army 1906 XT21. This historic real photo postcard features a circular portrait of a soldier in a French military uniform, identified by the number "25" on his kepi hat and the artillery regiment mention in the text. The soldier is confirmed in the writing to be a sub-lieutenant in the 8th Artillery Regiment. The card is heavily inscribed with a personal message in Esperanto, sent to Mr. K. E. F. Foulger in Shrewsbury, England, discussing the sender's military service and upcoming travel to an Esperanto congress in Geneva.
The front of the card features the soldier's portrait and a date of "25. VI. 06" written in green ink. The reverse side is a French "CARTE POSTALE" with two green 5-centime Sower stamps postmarked in Lens, Pas-de-Calais, France, on June 26, 1906. The text on the back includes the sender's address at the "8a regimento de artilerio" and detailed correspondence regarding a pamphlet translation and local group news.
This is a used standard size postcard published in France. The postcard has a few surface creases.
Part of the message reads "Dear Comrade,

Please also use the image magnifier to make your own assessment on the condition. Please ignore any lines caused by the scanner.
