This colour topographical view highlights the impressive medieval stone fortification at the western end of Chepstow Castle. Situated above the River Wye in the historic county of Monmouthshire, the defensive curtain walls and towers are framed by lush green trees and grassy slopes. Constructed from 1067 under Norman rule, the stronghold stands as the oldest surviving post-Roman stone fortress in Britain.
