This historic sepia topographical postcard captures the impressive exterior architecture of the medieval barbican and gatehouse at Alnwick Castle. The detailed stone battlements are famously adorned with ancient stone sentry statues along the top parapets to deter intruders. A traditional iron fence, an early street lamp post, and three local figures standing near the entrance wall complete this historic view of the Percy family estate.
