Nottinghamshire Postcard: Rampton Village Animated Scene Horse & Cart BH2214.

The image captures an animated early 20th-century scene in Rampton, a historic village in the Bassetlaw district of Nottinghamshire, about six miles east of Retford. This real photo view shows a young boy with his bicycle and a traditional horse-drawn cart on a winding, unpaved road lined with traditional brick and thatched cottages. Historically, the village is best known for its nearby secure hospital and the 16th-century Tudor gateway that once led to the original Rampton Manor, the seat of the Eyre family.

This is a used standard size postcard. Posted in 1911. The publisher is unknown and was manufactured in the United Kingdom. The postcard has a small crease to the top left hand corner, and a crease at the centre of the top edge.

Please also use the image magnifier to make your own assessment on the condition. Please ignore any lines caused by the scanner.

When possible all of our postcards will be posted to you inside a collectable plastic postcard sleeve and a board backed envelope which will be marked 'Please do not bend'.

The 'Mo's Postcards' watermark does not appear on the actual postcard'.
