This fascinating transportation scene illustrates a North British Railway (NBR) posting box built into the side of a wooden railway van carriage. An arm is visible on the left side sliding a letter directly into the integrated mail slot, which is accompanied by an official Post Office notice. The monochrome photograph captures a unique historical glimpse into early twentieth-century mobile postal systems and railway heritage across Scotland.
