Religious Postcard:Jesu Lover Of My Soul Christian Hymn Bamforth Art 1911 XT5327

This historic view features a dramatic religious illustration paired with the lyrics of the classic Christian hymn, Jesu, Lover of My Soul. A kneeling woman in a pink dress and dark cloak prays fervently on a rocky coastline, looking out across the water toward an ethereal apparition of Jesus Christ. The scene provides an emotive, beautifully coloured glimpse into early twentieth-century devotional art and religious sentiment.
