This historic maritime view features a dramatic artwork by renowned marine illustrator Fred J. Hoertz, capturing the grand profile of the SS America as she navigates through rolling open ocean waves. The painting beautifully illustrates the vessel's striking black hull, white superstructure, and distinctive red, white, and blue funnels flying the American flag. Commissioned in 1940 as the flagship of the United States Lines fleet, this celebrated ocean liner was promoted as the largest and most luxurious passenger ship built in the United States at the time, later serving as the troopship USS West Point during World War II.
