A historic 15th-century coaching inn, The Swan Hotel has stood directly opposite Wells Cathedral for over 600 years. It was a key social hub in the 18th century and has hosted notable guests throughout its history, including the poet Alfred, Lord Tennyson in 1854 and Anne of Denmark in 1613.
