This historic art postcard displays the exquisite carved ivory headrest of King Tutankhamun, discovered during the famous 1922 excavation of his tomb. The detailed design features the kneeling figure of Shu, the ancient Egyptian god of the air, flanked by two recumbent lions at the base supporting the curved head support. Published during the height of the international Egyptomania craze, this piece beautifully illustrates the masterful craftsmanship preserved within the Cairo Museum collections.
This is a standard size postcard which was published by the Bruce Co., London (Tutankhamen Series, No. 033). The postcard was made in England. This is an unused postcard.
