V & A Museum Postcard - Tile-Panel. Persian: Period of Shah Abbas I - XT1545

This postcard illustrates a Persian tile-panel from the Safavid period, specifically the reign of Shah Abbas I. The panel, which measures 3 ft. 7 in. by 7 ft. 5 in., is held in the collection of the Victoria and Albert Museum (museum number 139-1891). These ornate panels often depicted courtly life, gardens, or hunts and were used to decorate the palaces of Isfahan. The "Arc" Engraving Co. was known for producing high-quality reproductions of museum artifacts for educational and souvenir purposes.
