Yorkshire Postcard: Bolton Abbey Priory Church Interior Altar RPPC 1910s XT2516.
This image depicts the interior of the Priory Church of St Mary and St Cuthbert, the only part of Bolton Priory that remained in use as a parish church after the Dissolution of the Monasteries in 1539. The view looks toward the east wall, which was rebuilt in 1877 to replace the original crude wall erected after the priory's nave was separated from its ruined chancel.
