This historic photograph captures Alderman Joseph Agar J.P. of York performing the ceremonial foundation stone laying for the new Wesleyan Chapel in Nawton. A large crowd of local residents dressed in traditional Edwardian attire, including bowler hats and boaters, are gathered around the construction site to witness the event on August 28, 1913.


This is an original real photo postcard published by W. Hayes. The postcard was made in England.

This postcard has a curved crease close to the right hand edge, and slight surface wear.
