Paragon Square in Hull was a bustling commercial hub dominated by the grand Hammonds department store, which featured a landmark dome before being destroyed during the 1941 Blitz. The square is also home to significant monuments, including the Hull Cenotaph and the South African War Memorial, which were central gathering points for the city's residents.
